Testimonial

Hello Donna,

Just wanted to brag a little, and also thought that you might like to know, that Copperhill Delight is making a name for herself in the Competitive Trail Riders circle.

This is her first year to compete, and I have shown her in the Competitive Pleasure division, which is against many seasoned competitors and horses.

She has been to 4 competitions this year, and has done very well. In her first event, she placed 5th, with a very high score, 97 out of a possible 100. She placed a high 2nd at her 2nd event, with a score of 100, and 7 plusses for extremely good trail ability and manners on tough obstacles, and... she has won the last 2 events. This past weekend, in winning she had a perfect score of 100 with 7 plusses, (a plus for each obstacle on the trail.) The veternarian that judged her made many extremely great comments, about her conditioning, soundness, balence, and manners.

Our next competition will be held at the Biltmore estate, on Nov. 2nd through the 4th.
I don't know if you know much about NATRC and competitive trail rides, but they are no easy trick. We average riding 40 miles in 2 days, with many judged obstacles along the way. Horses are judged by a Vet. Riders are judged by a licensed horsemanship judge. Scores are tallied individually, horse being placed separately from rider. There is also a highpoint combo award (highest combined points for horse and rider team). Delight and I have won 2 combo awards so far this year. (being highpoint combined horse and rider team.) If interested, you could learn more about NATRC CTRs at www.natrc.org
I thought that you would be proud to know that although I have left the show ring for competitive trail riding, your Focus Flame girl is continuing to show the all around great nature and beauty of Flames kids.

She looks and feels GREAT! So does her spotted, yearling half arabian filly, Sweet Serenade, who is one of the prettiest, smartest, fillies I have seen in a long time. Perhaps one day I will bring Serenade out to the show ring, where I think she would have a good chance to excel. That waits to be seen....

Happy trails to you, and goodluck at the Music City show,

Marlene Buttrey
